Outlander McTavish whisky

Actor and author, Graham McTavish, has announced that he’s released a seven year old bourbon whiskey, named McTavish.

Posting on his social media this week, he wrote: “For anyone who missed it, I’m beyond excited to announce my first bourbon whiskey. Modestly named “McTavish”. It’s a 7 yr Bottled in Bond online only for now in the US”

Last month, the actor posted a reel on his Instagram where he talked more about the whisky, and wrote: “Delighted to announce my very own Bourbon Whiskey. I think some of you have already guessed. I hope you like this particular Scotsman’s dream of America.”

MacTavish is not the first Outlander star to release a spirit. Caitriona Balfe released a gin, Forget Me Not, in 2020 and Sam Heughan’s range of Sassenach spirits include The Sassenach whisky, released in 2020, Sassenach tequila, released in 2021 and

Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin, released in 2023.

Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish recently released the second season of their Men in Kilts series, this time the duo explore New Zealand, after spending season one in Scotland.

Outlander season 7 is out now and the first 8 episodes have been broadcast . The second 8 episoed are expected to be broadcast in January 2024. Currently filming cannot start on season 8 , the final season , due to the writer’s strike in America, although it looks like negotiations are close to a settlement .

Graham McTavish played Dougal MacKenzie, war chief of the MacKenzie clan , in Outlander . MacTavish returned to Outlander in 2020, in a surprise appearance as William Buccleigh MacKenzie, the son of Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan.

Geillis Duncan (born Gillian Edgars) is an antagonist in the Outlander novel series by Diana Gabaldon, as well as the main antagonist of the television adaptation’s third season. Originally from the 20th century, Scottish patriot and nationalist Gillian Edgars successfully travelled back in time to the 18th century in order to change history and aid the Jacobite cause.
